The Vmax Encore229 provides the traditional Pulmonary Function measurements of spirometry, lung volumes and diffusion with features that allow you to test a wider range of patients more accurately than any other pulmonary function laboratory. Additionally the system provides breath by breath and mixing chamber exercise capabilities. Integrates with ECG, ergometer and treadmill. 

The Vmax Encore concept features:

Modular Design. Allows for multiple applications in one system. Upgrade to any other Vmax application at any time for far less than the cost of a separate system. Combined applications, such as diffusion and exercise testing impossible with separate systems.

Mass Flow Sensor with Kelvin-Sensing Circuitry. Encore automatically corrects for temperature changes during testing. In systems lacking this unique feature, an ambient temperature change of 1°C will cause a 3% error.

Rapid Response Analyzers with real-time displays, pressure balancing, and auto-calibration. 

Super linearization. Encore's mass flow sensor can be calibrated with as few as 4 syringe strokes.   For those who demand a higher standard, Encore will linearise as many as 15 separate syringe strokes at varying flow rates. Both inspiratory and expiratory flows are linearised.

The Vmax Encore229 is an integrated pulmonary function testing system that measures F/V loops, SVC, MVV, N2 washout lung volumes and diffusion capacity (with either the Single Breath hold or the no-breath-hold Intra Breath techniques.) 

Utilizing a rapid-response 3-gas analyzer gas readings are traced throughout the breath, so actual dead space clearance can be monitored and sample size as well as sample site can be changed after the test, without the need to repeat the test. This assures quality DLCO measurements on patients with the smallest vital capacities while complying fully with ATS and ERS standards. Additionally mouth pressure is monitored during breath hold and inspiratory/expiratory flow is measured and displayed during and after the DLCO manoeuvre to assure that the patient has followed standard recommendations for patient effort.

The Vmax Encore229 also performs breath-by-breath and mixing chamber exercise testing. The mass flow sensor and rapid-response, precision gas analyzers assure accuracy in the widest range of subjects, from children to the world's top athletes. A very low dead space, open circuit breath-by-breath circuit places the mass flow sensor at the mouth with either a mouthpiece or a BxB mask. An optional mixing chamber breathing circuit consisting of a non-rebreathing valve and hose is necessary if the user wishes to measure in the mixing chamber mode.  

The system utilizes a new generation source stabilized infra red CO2 analyzer and a rapid-response O2 analyzer. There is graphic verification of the analyzer and flow sensor calibration. Physio-cal provides a user-friendly, in-vitro method to verify overall system performance. Measurement accuracy in the most demanding situations is guaranteed.

This unit can be upgraded in the future to applications such as nutritional assessment and respiratory mechanics. As an option, a body plethysmograph can be connected to the Vmax Encore229 for all the associated measurements (VTG, Raw). 

The Windows based 'Vision' software guarantees upward compatibility with the applications mentioned, as well as the integration of all data collected into one database. Trending data collected during previous patient visits is one of the standard features of Vmax.

The operator can access powerful help and tutorial programs for push-button application assistance. 

Included with Encore's base functionality is the ability to seamlessly link one or more VIASYS Diagnostic Systems (including Vmax Spectra, Vmax Encore, SomnoStar Pro and Nicolet Alliance Works) with a common database of patient records. Encore allows maximum flexibility in the storage and access to patient data records. Records may be stored on an individual system, on a central reading station located on a department's Local Area Network (LAN) or on a shared network drive on a facility's Wide Area Network (WAN).

Vmax Encore puts you in control of your operating expenses. Our Total Life Care   (My TLC) warranty provides all you will need for a year's operation (excluding medical gases, disposable mouthpieces & MicroGard Filters). It also includes a modular exchange warranty in which any part of your system that fails to function perfectly is replaced. You can invest in as many as 4 additional years of My TLC.
